Signature Experience for Global Goals

SEA’s Signature Experiences for Global Goals gives students the opportunity to build knowledge of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations and then apply that knowledge in developing solutions to local challenges. Through these deep-dive, community-based experiences, every student at SEA will collaborate with organizations throughout the city of Pittsburgh in ways that reinforce our Core Values and 21st century skills. After years of studying the goals and simulating the decision making process of world leaders through Model United Nations, students travel to New York City to visit the United Nations in their 8th Grade year.

St. Edmund’s Academy is the first school in Pittsburgh to sign on as a UN Global School, serving as a hub of education and leadership on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and ultimately empowering students to prioritize sustainable development in their lifestyles, behaviors, education, and professional careers.

Our Community Partners

At the heart of the Signature Experience for Global Goals program is our partnership with Pittsburgh organizations whose missions align with our values, allowing our students to experience, first-hand, the impact of their work in the community.
